Chalkful

Fair usage policy

Last updated: August 21, 2026

Chalkful includes a few AI-assisted features. Each one costs us a small amount per use, so this policy exists to keep that sustainable for everyone on a shared plan price — not to nickel-and-dime how you run your own tutoring business.

What this covers

Everything else in Chalkful — scheduling, invoicing, the parent portal, reminders — isn't AI-driven and isn't covered here.

What "fair" means

These features are built for one tutor running their own practice at a normal, human pace — drafting a report per student roughly as often as you actually meet them, tagging the sessions you actually hold, photographing the receipts you actually collect. That covers every real tutoring business we've seen, including a busy full-time one.

It doesn't cover, and we reserve the right to act on:

What happens on unusual usage

If an account's usage looks far outside normal tutoring activity, we may throttle or pause the AI-specific parts of the affected feature. The rest of Chalkful keeps working as normal, and each feature already has a built-in non-AI fallback — a progress report falls back to a plain template, expense entry falls back to typing the fields in yourself. We won't suspend your account over this alone, and we'll always email you first if something looks unusual rather than act silently.
